When Lucia walked into Woodmont Cabinetry looking for a job more than 20 years ago, she had one long-term life goal – to be a homeowner. What Lucia didn’t know was that in addition to achieving her dream, she would also become one of the most experienced members of the Woodmont team. As a Door Assembler, Lucia pulls together all of the parts of a door in preparation for assembly. It’s an integral part of ensuring a complete, quality product, and she appreciates that she has earned the trust of her team. Once the production schedule is in her hands, she’s free to work independently and get the job done!

Looking back on all those years, Lucia is grateful that the owners of Woodmont were willing to give her a chance. “I didn’t know very much when I first started,” she says, “but they took a chance on me and I’m so grateful that they did because it allowed me to accomplish my dream of owning my own home.” Lucia now encourages young people to follow their dreams as well: “I have 4 kids, and I tell them that the willingness to do well in life comes from within. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish whatever you set out to do.”

Fun Fact: As an avid home cook, Lucia loves making meals for her family, including delicious desserts that satisfy any sweet tooth.
